Artificial intelligence & Machine learning
人工知能と機械学習の基礎技術の深化をめざした研究に取り組んでいます。説明可能なAI(eXplainable AI: XAI) に必要な蒸留学習，再利用可能なAIに必要な転移学習，仕様にあった性能を実現する設計可能なAI等，社会実装に必要なシステムエンジニアリングとしてのAI技術を追求します。
We are engaged in research that aims to deepen the core technologies of artificial intelligence and machine learning. We pursue AI technology as systems engineering for social implementation, such as distillation learning required for explainable AI (eXplainable AI: XAI), transition learning required for reusable AI, and designable AI that achieves performance that meets specifications.

Intelligent medical , care support
医療は高度な医学知識と多くのデータに基づく高度な知能システムであるという視点から，人工知能による医師の意思決定や業務を支援する様々な応用研究を進めています。ライフサイエンス全体にわたる知能化環境・サービスの実現をめざした要素技術と設計論を提案し，人類の健康と福祉に貢献していきます。
From the viewpoint that medicine is an advanced intelligence system based on advanced medical knowledge and a large amount of data, we are conducting studies on various applications of artificial intelligence to support doctors' decision-making and business operations. We will contribute to human health and welfare by proposing elemental technologies and design theories for the realization of intelligent environments and services throughout the life sciences.

老朽化が進むインフラや大規模システム対し，これまで人間の経験や勘にたよっていた様々な異常検知やライフサイクル管理を，人工知能によって効率化・高度化していきます。保守作業の効率化，インフラの自律的リノベーション，安全・安心な社会の持続的発展に貢献する研究に取り組んでいます。
For aging infrastructures and large-scale systems, we apply artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency and sophistication of various anomaly detection and lifecycle management, which until now have been based on human experience and intuition. We are engaged in research that contributes to the efficiency of maintenance work, the autonomous renovation of infrastructure, and the sustainable development of a safe and secure society.
